In my opinion, a good english clasrooms should be attractive for students create a good learning environment and promote values.
It should be a confidence place in order to have a good menatl process and to be ready to learn and teach, for example clean classroom and include posters that create imaginaton or promote curiosity and to learn vocabulary of course.
The activities have to be fun, meaningful and easy for ss because when they solve exercises and try to speak english they try again for next class do it again but the most important that activities have to foolow a positive attitude and include values for example respect when they are working or for their partners that are iparticipation. Use intelligence multiples in order to develop their skills and different learning styles and see mistakes as a natural process of learning.
The teacher have to be a confidence and a monitor and show them respect,he/she always should be happy and smart but stablish rules and limits in order to promote values and don't have problems in gthe future with students or parents....

According to all the learning theories you have studied, in your opinion, what should be the characteristics of the English classroom?
Be sure you include atmosphere, type of activities, teacher's role, students' role, discipline management...
Read some of your classmates' opinions and say if you agree with them and why.

In an English classroom we need to create a proper atmosphere and we as an English teacher need to establish close rapport with the students.
Our students need to feel secure, motivated and for that reason we need to share a positive attitude with them and create a good learning enviroment. We must to pay attention in their abilities and to use specific task for special kids. We have to promote their participation so the activities should be original and dynamics. They love play so, using a lot of games and songs are the best way to teach them the English language.
The projects are important for kids because they learn by exploring and manipulating objects, interacting with other children.
We establish limits but at the same time to be flexibles because like you said when they feel control all the time they don´t learn.
I´m agree with Susana and Yessi about students' abilities.

Classroom is more than a room; more than a physical place is a phycological place Traditional way to teach (not only english) is the teacher always in front of the students talking and talking, the students in a passive way, chairs in a line etc.. Now we know that classroom is more that chairs and board;is a place to share, to move, is a confortable place to be, a place where techer is a member.
So is not easy to mention an ideal classromm because students (individual diferences of them) teacher (personality attitud...)and furniture needs to be in a concordance to cover the spectatives for each member of the class that´s why each group could have their own outstanding classroom. So the teacher should be a guide to provide the best enviroment to each class; as I already mention the classroom Is A PHYCOLOGICAL place.

I agree with Abigail, We should be carefull with the attitud, I really like what Abigali said about playing, kids, life of kids is play, they learn by playing they always are learning and they don´t realiced, they live, play and they learn...please colleagues let them play, let them sing, let them laugh is the best way to teach. hI, this is Alejandra Alfaro Alonzo.
I agree with Milagros Almaraz. Classroom is a sacred place for me because is where you give all your effort, your knowledge, your love and passion for the activities you develop there, so classroom environment must be safe, a place where Ss feel understood, confidence, respected and motivated to do everything they decide to.
Teacher must have a variety of activities, using Ss prior knowledge can be dinamyc, drilling, stories, rhymes, dialogues, watch cartoons, movies, match, color, songs and organize games including all the activities in pairs, groupin, etc. is nice for kids because playing is the most important activity for them and is the best way a kid can get a good and meaninful learning.
Teacher must be a monitor, a guide, to stablish a good rapport, a good listener, creative, prepare Ss to be problem solvers, show positive atittude, be s facilitator, an observer, to check the needs of Ss.
Ss must be learners, observant, feel free to do what they really want to about the class.
About Discipline Management we must stablished rules and negotiate with them, some of them can be given for themselves, but at the same time Tmus be emphatic and flexible.

i agree with most of the comentaries.

Homework about the next question:

According to all the learning theories you have studied, in your opinion, what should be the characteristics of the English classroom?
Be sure you include atmosphere, type of activities, teacher’s role, student’s role and discipline management.

The characteristics of the English classroom should be a comfortable and reliable place where students always want to stay, the activities have to be very attractive and dynamic for them.
The role of the teacher should be as a guide a person who always stay near the students and really know what they need in all the senses
The role of the students should be as a receptor because they are very interested in all the new things around them that so for me my students are as a seeds because every day I put on them a knowledge drop until they grow up as beautiful flowers.
About discipline sometimes you should be strict but you have to do very carefully because you can hurt children’s feelings.

Children need to feel that they are respected and know that the instructor is not only for teaching but also need to understand that we can be cosidered as their friend.A friend that can teach them a foreing language either by songs or games. To be realistic many kids go to school because they are taken not because they love to attend school.Others like to go 'cause they like the games, the singing and the dynamic activities they do not have at home and we as English instructors need to be aware of that. That is why we need to create a healthy, clean and respectful atmosphere in the classroom where children do not go just to learn English but also to learn human and personal values, that in our society and specially in our children are being lost.We as teachers spend a lot of time with our little students and they are collecting information from us.That is why i believe we have a great responsibility with the little ones.Respecting the students and being respected is the beginning of a good discipline.

I think that the characteristics of the english classroom involves the efficiency of the Teacher and the learning activities as well as the attitude students have at the moment because themost effective activities can be madee almost useless if the teacher doesn't organise themeffectively if the teacher allows a discipline problem to arise learning will be affected..
I think teachersmust allow students a variety of activities (language input and language output)
Talking about the role of the teacher should change. Sometimes teacher is controller, assessor, prompter, resource, organiser, etc.. And about indiscipline,I think teacher must act immediately changing students to another place, stopping the class, call out a student apartt or talk to him or her very lower or perhaps changing the activity if we realise that the reason of the misbehavior is that.
I agree with jahimeh and yessy bautista in the thing they said the activities must be productive and meaningful. not mechanical

I think is so good nowadays we have many theories that help us to understand the process of learning, what happened when there were not enough information and people had to teach and learn? we are lucky, so I only have and want to know most of the theories and follow them according to the situation can come and the needs of the education and kids obiously.

I belive that besides the purposes of the national program has, the classes, the classroms and schools must be created as much as posible as for developing the personal, learning and future professional needs, that children have in such a competitive society.
Talking about teacher´s role, I think, I as teacher have and want to follow and cover many roles such as informer, parent, friend, manager, planner, involver, monitor and more, in addition to teach too.

After reading some opinions come to my mind many different oppinions too but I read a simple one and love it

Characteristics of the english classroom.
1.Decorate the room appropriately with works created by students according to the subject being teaching is a great stimulus to the boys and girls want to know more about the subject.
2.Attention or that you are wrong in your answer infront of their classmates will cause the child to be dismayed, isolate and never want to participate in class.
3.Write teacher-student agreement on what to do in class or not working properly and make children feel involved in the establishment of rules or class will bring a good or bad also therefore.
4.Provide a variety of activities and topics in each class is important.
5.Agree to the possibilities of each school, try to include in the lesson plan the technology.
6.The teacher must know the individual needs of their students, thair skill and competences.
7.Use strategies with children who do not always agree to the group.

B)Read some of your classmates' opinions and say if you agree with them and why.
I agree with you Mark. There should be a good place to teach, but I think the atmosphere, warmth, trust and many other things that the teacher should have in class largely. Much depends on the manner and form in wich each class is given depending on the topic to teach.
In my opinion, any of the theories of teaching is good if they are conducted efficiently.

Well the teacher always is the model, also a mediator and a cordinator. We always have to be respectful, patient, tolerant, friendly and empathic.
In the classroom first of all we have to make them confident, also establish a good report.
Its important to plan the class every day with different activities using different materials, including games and songs in our teach its a good idea too. The point is make the class atractive and dinamic this way the students will be interested and little by little they wants to be involved in every class. The student have to do their job too, discovering, analyzing and using the new knowlegde.

ACCORDING TO THE THEORIES PEOPLE LEARN BEST IN QUITE DIFFERENT WAYS.tHERE IS A DEVELOPMENTAL SEQUENCE YOUNGER CHILDREN TEND TO LEARN BEST WHEN PHYSICALLY INVOLVED THROUGH PLAY AND DO NOT GENERALLY LIKE TO LEARN ALONE UNTIL THEY ARE OLDER BUT THERE ARE ALSO IMPORTANT INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES.
THE TRADITIONAL VIEW OF INTELLIGENCE AS A SINGLE ABILITY IS BEING REPLACED BY THE THEORY THAT INTELLIGENCE IS A COMPLEX AND MULTIPLE CONCEPT.IT IS NOT A MATTER OF BEING MORE OR LESS INTELLIGENT ALONG A SINGLE SCALE. IT IA A QUESTION OF BEING INTELLEGENT IN DIFFERENT WAY
INDIVIDUAL LEARNING STYLES MATCH DIFFERENT KINDS OF CLASSROOM ACTIVITY.tHE SUCCES OF AN ACTIVITY IN CLASS DEPEND ON HOW MUCH IT APPELS TO THE STUDENTS.IF IT FITS IN WITH THEIR LEARNING STYLE,OR IT MATCHES THEIR STRONGEST INTELLIGENCE,THEN STUDENTS ARE MORE LIKELY TO RESPOND TO IT POSITIVELY.

As teachers we are responsible to built environment for autonomy and collaborative learning, this is not easy for some teachers that they are not creative or because they work with the traditional method or they only have few years to work as teacher.
On the other hand nowadays most of teachers work with an educative material and electronic sources in addition to update on technological uses of information and communication, although I try to do the best, sometimes students don´t have the interest to work because of psychological, economic and social situations. That´s for, although there are a lot, we must consider some aspects like these:
The didactic material, are all that elements used on the teaching learning process, it helps to built specific knowledge and it offers visual, auditive, and tactile sensations. A good chose and design, printed, concrete or informatics, strength the comprehension, motivate the interest and develop the meaning and communicative activity.
Lesson plan The main goal of the lesson plan is to capture the attention of the students like you plan, the cognitive, psychomotor and affective fields are involved and we must analyze carefully what they are going to learn and how they are going to learn. It is necessary to organize and define the objective of the class, before planning we have to consider the kind of students, the size group, level, time, activity, etc.
And it requires to develop skills on the three stages that we know like introduction or access where we can work with warm up activities, development or practicing we develop all the kinds of drills and closing or consolidation here we have to transfer the theory to a communicative and meaningful activity.
Context It is good to make students feel confident even when the context is related to their routinary activities.
I agree with most of teachers in the course, because I had worked with children before I worked with teens and I have an idea about them, they are great genius.

Read some of your classmates´ opinions and say if you agree with them and why.

English Clarsroom must be collorful as well as of figures placed on the wall as rabbits, dogs, cats, and so on. And count on the sufficiente material like video and apparatus of sound etc. Meanwhile in order to activate students theacher must motivate them so that they give information us by means of drawings, not only knowledge but experience as well. For ejample. One of them draws on the blackborad and the other practice vocabulary, also to be create a history, to write differents examples and to ask wich ones are similar and different for example I went to the movies, I went to the park, I went to the beach of that way the grammar strucuture is taught to them, to match constantly to work in groups, in pairs, in two great gropus or all group.
To include games and songs
About Teacher´s role to make sure that the students think, they analize, they reflect, they discover with meaningful
Ensure that students interact trought team work and exclaim information.
Have learners construct knowledge relating their previous knowledge and expericence with new topics, prepare a lesson plan using a proyect method.
To construct knowledge, to provide concept, to know like use it, solving problems with the knew knowledge.
Use different materials, visuals learnings, realiz, concret materials. Have students investigate, experiment, discover, analize, reflect. I mean cognitive participation.
Finally use a variety of activities, to use the brain not only hands

I am in agreement with Jessica where it mentions that the teacher we cannot use the same method with different scholastic degrees by virtue of that first we must kow that type of students this directed the method.

Hello everybody Very Happy
In my opinion I think that all methods that we have been studied are important and necessary to apply at different moments and situations but the more relevance is constructivism which gives us the tools so that we can teach and most of all helping children in developing learning now a days we work more for projects that encourage students to discover how to get to achieve the goal or objective desired
I know that we need to be careful to promote a friendly atmosphere for children and in that way they work in better mood. All children like learn much better if they study with games, projects and songs and we don´t lost the goal or objective that we want to teach. Another point is that we have to consider is the kind of students whom go to work

I believe that teacher's should create a pleasant environment with Respect, Empathy and Authenticity. Also we should set an example arriving on time, checking homeworks, notebooks, because children need individual attention and teacher's approval. We should make our classes interesting, increase self confidence, present tasks properly, give dynamic classes and like Guadalupe mentioned, use different activities.
We should make them think and learn without knowing they are, and show them that ENGLISH IS FUN.

SELF EVALUATION
BEING A TEACHER IS MANY THINGS.
It is more meaningful and easier to go up when you decided to be a teacher, when you have the willing and the disposition, I have seen that professional teachers are always doing something to get better in the classroom. I admire teacher who closes to advice or helps you.
HOW DO YOU FEEL AFTER YOUR EVALUATION?
I feel a little worried and confused because as the most contestants I wished to have a little more time to answer the exam. I realized that some questions were wrong, and the teachers who were grading us, also were tired.
WHAT DID YOU DISCOVER?
Through the experiences of my classmates and teacher I must consider many advices and suggestions to avoid embarrassing situations. Sometimes teachers must adapt to work with limited sources in the school.

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO DO ABOUT IT?
I have the responsibility to study the children´s behaviorism, observe and hear them. With children, we have to be more tolerant, to have more patience and to be more creative to develop their skills, drill a lot and never give up. I have to figure out ways to transmit knowledge through meaningful activities.
Study more about techniques and new methods, nowadays it´s a requirement to develop the competences focused on the official syllabus. On the other hand, we need constantly training because it isn´t enough this course to face children. I think that with experience or without experience we had better take a short course at least once a year.

I think that in a classroom it has to exist an environment where the ss´ can feel secure, motivated, respected by the others (including the teacher), confident, it has to be a positive atmosphere where they can feel good about learning. The activities should be very dinamic including those where ss´can develop their multiple intelligences, activities where ss´can practice with their classmates (team, pairs, etc.), and the ones that develop their imagination and curiosity and the most important; these activities have to include games. The teacher´s role should be like being a guide for the ss´ and the ss´ should be the ones who are interested in their learning and in their processes I mean be the center of learning. And talking about discipline management, I think that in the classroom it has to be certain rules since the very beginning of the course and as a teacher be sure that the ss´ know those rules (maybe even let ss´create some of them) in order to follow them and in that way keep working in a positive atmosphere.

First of all I would like to start by saying that all the English theories have been absolutely helpful to me. On the other hand, I completely agree with Ale.

What should be the characteristics of the English classroom?

Of course we have to take into account the environment inside the classroom, sometimes we do not put too much emphasis or attention in making our students feel comfortable, relax and confident of themselves. Depending on the age of our students we could relax them by singing or by establishing a conversation about some of the activities that they like doing. It is very important to catch our students’ attention at the beginning of the class because I consider that if we start a class when our students are stressed, bored or distracted, they simply are not going to pay attention to us during the rest of the class.

Then when we have caught their attention we have to include a variety of activities which really can be a challenge and which should be short, meaningful and interesting for them in order to make them comprehend, discover and the most important thing to make them wanting to learn more. We have the big responsibility of waking up the curiosity of our students.

As a teacher we have to be flexible and in addition to this make yourself be respected by your students simply by establishing clear rules and by respecting them.
