In my opinion I think both are important, is depending of skill we are correcting in that moment, because If I’m checking grammar then I check only grammar, if I’m checking spelling I check just spelling and if my task is about speaking I check so. Then, for me, both are important because Kids have to speak with accuracy and have to write with appropriacy. Regards Gina.

In my personal opinion both are necessary to correct a grammatical pattern to avoid repeating the wrong written structure and of course a proper way of speaking in order to improve the English Language Skill.
In the context of teaching in general, feedback is information that is given to the learner about his or her performance. For example: the words "Yes, right !", said to learner who has answered a question; a raised eyebrow in response to a mistake in grammar; comments written in the margin of an essay. Feedback has two main distinguishable components: ASSESSMENT AND CORRECTION. Most of the feedback we give our learners is ongoing correction and assessment, directed at specific bits of learner-produced language with the aim of bringing about improvement, that is to "to form": to enhance, not conclude, a process. Distinct from this is the evaluation where the teacher evaluates an overall aspect of the learner's knowledge in order to summarize the situation: how proficient he or she is at a certain point in time, or how much he or she has progressed during a particular course. I think that correcting content of the message is more important, because we want our Ss to express what they really mean (want to say), and if they make a mistake we can correct it later, not on that moment. Assessing ss is a hard task and sometimes a big risk. The feedback Teachers provide during oral or written work es very important.
What do you think is more important when teaching english to kids, correcting language form or content of the message? Explain why? What do you think about some of your classmates commentaries?

I think both, correcting language and content form.
I good teacher should be able to give students formative assessment. In other words, whatever activity we ask our students to be involved in or they are working Teacher should assessment ss all long time. Teacher needs to have some idea of what ss achieve in the lesson. Only in this way Teacher knows what ss have progressed during a particular course.
I agree with my partners. We're connecting at the same channel, but we have our own teach style. Jacqueline.

In my opinion, both are importante depend on the teacher is focusing.
When fluency is the focus, misspellings, poor word choice, and faulty punctuation are not considered. Attention is only directed to the student's facility in translating thoughts into words.
Content is considered in the writing product. Content features include the composition's organization, cohesion, accuracy . And correcting language, when they feel confident with these skills (oral or writing) we have to focus in it.
Instructional assessments, are used for the daily tasks of planning instruction, giving feedback, and monitoring student progress.
I agree with my classmates.

Rosalba Reyes Narváez.

We are checking our student´s progress so I think both are important. When we assess we check what our students can do and how well they can do it, also we are checking their improvement and it is important to remember that our role is to encourage our students checking when the things are well done or not.

When we show our interest in the work our student are doing the students can feel confident with the things they are learning and their motivation may increase.

Thanks Gina because we are getting new ideas in our way of teaching.

In my point of view is more important to correct language form because as a teacher I teach the correct use of language, I know that some tasks imply certain topics and knowledge, also I have to respect some points of view and the way of being of each is determinated by the context where they are raised, but the principal objective of teaching English is the correct use of language, and I have to make sure that they communicate in the best way.
Although if I set a conversation of certain topic the content must be coherent in order to express whatever they want in this case the content and the correct use of language are important, otherwise the student can´t express what he or she wants
I don´t agree with Eva because her statement says that is more important the content. The explanation is above.

WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THE FORM OF THE LANGUAGE OR THE CONTENT MESSAGE?

Well the both are very important. A good teacher teaches functions, language skill and fluency as well as grammar, the students must be improve all these things at the same time and this is the reason we have to assess and evaluate our children daily in order to inform them their weakness and strengths.

The first step is to get the content of the message in the text then the student need to focus on the form of the language.... this, makes achievable the interaction and communication.

That´s why we need the student´s assesment and evaluation.

Well in my personal point of view I think it depends on the type of work students are doing. Because if they are working on grammar exercises then it would be more important correction of language form, but if they are working on the pronunciation just seems to me that it would evaluate the content of the message, otherwise it would not only be wrongly assessed but also my teaching would be deficient. Consequently, the assessment should be every day to provide the best support to students and to encourage them to enjoy teaching English and encourage the values to be better men in their lives
In the other hand I disagre with my clasmate Magda Luz when she said “in order to inform them their weakness and strengths.” Because I think that teacher don´t inform at learners about weakness and strengths but we must improve these weaknesses. Well I think so.

To my mind, both are important because as I have learnt that we started to comunicate without reading or writing in real life and we are able to understand mesages then when the time goes by we started to learn other ways to comunicate as reading and writing also during this process we get the right way to do it through slips, errors or attempts

I think every one has their own reasons and are so interesting but at the end most of us have the same aims to teach and learn in the best way we can, and the most important the willingness we could have.

It is hard but it is one of the teacher´s duties, that´s for teachers must check their own grammar before design an exercise or exam in addition to practice the English skills independently after class to give a good assessment as many times they need it.
THE FEEDBACK TEACHERS PROVIDE DURING ORAL OR WRITTEN WORK IS VERY IMPORTANT.
Although we develop skills with different methods, strategies, theories, etc., feedback is pretty important to asses and correct and to reinforce knowledge on students.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS MORE IMPORTANT WHEN TEACHING ENGLISH TO KIDS, CORRECTING LANGUAGE FORM OR CONTENT OF THE MESSAGE?
EXPLAIN WHY.
Both because also grammar is important and we always do when we check mistakes after taking exams and they couldn´t express orally or written correctly way if they don´t have basic rules.

All of them have nice experiences and their commentaries are right.

In my point of view I think both are importants only depend what are you assessment,if we teaching grammar is necesary to correct language form etc but the most important we must be carefully when we make an assessment we have to have very clear what do we assessment? and give an correct feedback and of course use the correct tool according the assessment. I agree with Magaly all of us we have the tools in order to teaching English, but each teacher has their own style and all the tools are good as check list, rubrick etc.
Hi Gina you are an excellent teacher, really I had learned so much and for me the most important I try to work in my class with all that you said, and I have great sorprises.

In my opinion, the most important is that the kids can expres what they think or what they want to communicate. I think it is needed to correct the language form because they have to leard a correct use of English.

Providing feedback during oral or written work is essential to reach improvements with students. I think that both of them are important. Although the main point is to know how and when we have to provide corrections.

We have already learned that if we want to correct pronunciation, students have to read aloud, but if we want students to understand a text, of course they have to do it in silence, because they can easily get distracted by the fact of doing an excellent pronunciation.
