I WOULD MONITOR DAY BY DAY DIFFERENT SS, IN THIS WAY I WOULD RECOGNIZE WHOSE ARE THE SS WITH LESS PARTICIPATION AND DISCOVER WHY ; IN ORDER TO MAKE BETTER DECISITIONS ABOUT SS LEARNING NEEDS; OF COURSE IN A POSITIVE AND FRIENDLY ATTITUDE OR ATMOSPHERE.
I WOULD USE TESTS AND CHECK LISTS IN ORDER TO FIND (WRITING, READING AND LISTENING) WHAT ARE THE STRENGHTS AND WEAKNESSES IN SS (INDIVIDUALLY).
I ALSO WOULD ASK THEM FOR PROJECT WORKS AND QUIZZES WITH THESE DISCOVER THEIR KNOWLEGDE (SPEAKING AND LISTENING) IN VOCABULARY AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS (BY TEAMS). IN THIS WAY I CAN OBSERVE DIFFERENT KINDS OF SKILLS AND INTELLIGENCES IN S.S.

At the beginning of the course I would make a test in order to identify their mistakes and work on it. I will also focus in one students per day and take notes about it so at the end of two months I will evaluate them in order to know their progress using checklist.

I should be aware of the social development of my students, for example how children interact with others, if the student can share and take turns. Also his physical development sometimes they have a special need and we need to take care of it so learning colud be easier for them. I think cognitive and language development are important too, if there is a problem in the reasoning ability or memory; if they can follow the instructions or create an understandable basic speech. And finally their creativity.
I would use it to be able to know exactly where my group or an specific student is having problems, it they are getting the general idea. Also to have something to show to their parents as a record of their progress.

All the information helps you to achieve yours goals as a teacher, if you use a test or quizz and most of students didn´t get the waited raiting is important to analize that information because is posssible that teacher needs to improve or change or adecuate the strategy; if few student´s didn´t get the raiting teacher needs to to monitor the way that these few students learn and what you can do as a teacher to help them.
The attitud of the studens shows if they are interested in, if they are boring if they are tired that information helps you to adecuate yur performance as a teacher. In every class, in every activity students are showing if you are in the correct way or you need to change or to adecuate something.

OBSERVATION & ACTION

FIRST OF ALL, I would observe how confident or motivated the students feel about learning English, and work on this part providing them the proper atmosphere or implement some strategies that make them to overcome their feelings or weakness, and they can move forward their learning.

SECOND; I would walk around the classroom to see, and hear if students are on task or need clarification, and also it would be useful to take some notes and to know how many of them got the topic or the instructions, or the aims, and later make adaptations or clarify the topic or anything about the misunderstanding.

THIRD; I would ask them for sef-evaluation (under a previuos establishing some criterias), where students would learn to see different ways of work or qualities work, learning how to do it , or improving their own learning.

FOURTH; The most important for me; My own assessment, I would consider if I was clear transmiting the information about my planning program goals to my students learning/achievements

I think an assessment is very important day by day. I gather information from quizzes, observation, conversations for role-plays, fill-in, transformation, multiple-choice questions, ordering, true/false statements, taking part in interviews, writing letters, and checklists.
At the beginning with a Diagnostic assessment (It tells me what the students need to learn).
During the course with Formative assessment. ( It informs me about progress my learners are learning, leads to adaptations and directions for future learning).
At the end of a unit, project, or bimonthly with Summative evaluation. With all the information gathered during the assessment becomes the basis for an evaluation. I can compare assessment information to the objectives and evaluate the progress of a student’s learning.
Ss receive all the assessments that they have made during this period, a report card with their grades with feedback about their performance.

I think that first like teacher you need to know the knowledge and point that your students need to reinforce (it can be with a test, project, oral questions, etc.) and when you have this information do you can look for the strategies in order that take the best decisions for the learning.
In the same way you need to know your group (if they like learn with song, project, exercises and if there are especial kids). When you have this information it’s time to do the correct plan for each group.
Remember that each teacher has a different form to interpreter the information but it’s us job to find the best way to catch the characteristics of the group and learn the form how to teach english.
And this assessment has to be day by day, not only at the beginning, during all course we need to look for different assessment, at the final we need to know how and what the students learnt during the course in order to evaluate themselves and auto evaluate us.

The teacher must do an academic evaluation when He/She takes a group as the first time since in many times the students don't have the same English level. In general the group doesn't have the same knowledge for this reason it's important to do an evaluation to know the English level that handles the group. With the information of the evaluations the teacher can know what kind of knowledge the group need to improve based on this information the teacher could evaluate day after day the work and the advances that the students have in the topics during the year.
It's important that the teachers are always attentive to the advances of the group and for this reason it is important that daily this being monitored by small exercises of evaluation to know if the atudents are acquiring the knowledge and are applying it remembering that the evaluation is managing as an exercise of class.

I think that the most important part of assessment is observing your students, how do they feel about your class if they enjoy it, if they participate, if they feel confident and motivated , if they clear understand the activities. In base of the observation you notice if you need to do some changes in your plans or if you need to imrpove your strategies in all moments children must show enthusiastic.You have to repeat all neccesary times the topic they don't clearly understand but without it seems as a routine, at the end of the period you achieve your goals and doing a evaluation. I agree with my classmates.

First I have to pay attention how they work, if they work alone or how they work in groups. I will pay attention to the multiple intelligencies in order to plan different activities so they can learn better.

Our students need to feel secure, motivated and for that reason we need to share a positive attitude with them and create a good learning enviroment.
We must to pay attention in their abilities and to use specific task for special kids.
We have to promote their participation so the activities should be original and dynamics. They love play so, using a lot of games and songs are the best way to teach them the English language.
I think that I would use for gather information:
a. Portfolio. Is one of the most effective ways to assess a student’s performance.
- Project work - Drawings
- Expressing writing - Visual products
- Maps - Displays
b. Quiz.
c. Daily Observation.
d. Conversation.
e. Activities: Listening, Writing, Reading and Speaking
f. Check lists.
This information it’s useful not only for the students but we as a teachers too. We need to improve day a day and we must be trained all the time and to make our work more professional.

the kind of information should be based on everyday tasks, where the observer´s (Teacher) monitoring is highly activeted, ,gathering tests,notes,HW,compositions,lyrics and then some. including reflections through the course in order that you can use all these information effectively. At the end of the lesson,month,bimester,semester evaluation and your goals should have a closely balance . Wink

I think it is very important to collect information on the learning of our students.
With this we self-evaluated if the teaching techniques we are doing are right for them to learn in a way accepted.

I think every day we must collect information about our students, as observers, with assignments in small groups to encourage them to resolve their doubts, they work in pairs

We teachers must have our portfolio of evidence to guide us in a better way to reach the goal.

Assessment and evaluation are integral components of the teaching-learning cycle. The main purposes are to guide and improve learning and instruction. Effectively planned assessment and evaluation can promote learning, build confidence, and develop students' understanding of themselves as learners. A variety of assessment and evaluation techniques should be used. Techniques should be selected for their appropriateness to students' learning styles and to the intended purposes. Students should be given opportunities to demonstrate the extent of their knowledge, abilities, and attitudes in a variety of ways. Assessment is a common practice in today’s classrooms. It usually takes place in predictable ways in traditional formats. A wide variety of assessment options are available, however, to meet the instructional needs of teachers and the learning needs of students, and this is the point and the most important of assessment the needs of ss ’because assessment and evaluation should help students. They should provide positive feedback and encourage students to participate actively in their own assessment in order to foster lifelong learning and enable them to transfer knowledge and abilities to their life experiences.
Honestly I didn´t practice the assessment correctly, and this is a new concept to me, but I think that is very important and in the future I´m going to use it in correct way. I read some information about assessment and I want to share to everybody.
Formative Assessment
Although tests and exams are not going to disappear from schools, student learning can be greatly enhanced when information from a wide variety of kinds of assessment is used to inform instruction, provide feedback, and evaluate products and performances. The kind of assessment that occurs before and during a unit of study is called formative assessment.
Several strategies of formative assessment give students and teachers the kinds of information they need to improve learning:
1. Strategies for gauging student needs, such as examining student work, analyzing graphic organizers, and brainstorming
2. Strategies to encourage self-direction, such as self-assessment, peer feedback, and cooperative grouping
3. Strategies for monitoring progress, such as informal observations, anecdotal notes, and learning logs
4. Strategies to check for understanding, such as journals, interviews, and informal questioning
Summative Assessment
While formative assessments can give students and teachers information about how well they are doing while they are working on projects, at some point, most teachers are required to give a report on student learning at the end of a particular unit or on a particular project. Students also want and need to know how well they have done. This kind of assessment, done after the fact, is called summative assessment.
Summative assessments, like unit tests, can provide useful information if teachers and students take the time to look at them analytically. Teachers can find areas of weakness to address in more depth in future units and with future groups of students. Students can identify problem areas and set goals for future learning.

I think is very important at the beginning of the course make a diagnostic of the students to know which abilities and needa they have.
Assessment-Evaluation are important tools for recognize the weaknesses and strengh of the students to improve and help them and Teacher can improve the lesson plan and anticipate problems and how to resolve.
Some times teachers use for evaluate RUBRICS.
for example:
Time Managment
4.Expert.Ss.is consistently using class time productively.
3.Practitioner.
Ss. is frequently using class time productively rarely needs redirection.
2.Apprentice Ss is sometimes using class time productively,sometimesneeds redirection.
1. Novice Ss is frequently on task or using class time productively,often needs redirection.

Assesment and evaluation is the act to achieve all process teaching -learning.
I think, the diary activities is a good way in order to get information and if the process was good (methodologyj)and ss have learnt the topic. , so work with the tests o quizz is a formal way to get specific information about learning . it's very important acquire information about learning , so the projects is a good way but the most important is their participaction and attitude beacuse is a good demonstartion our work as teachers.

Well I think we have to meake an assessment day by day it is imposible to do it everyday with each student, but we can do it with five or six one day and for the next we can do it with other six. And we have diffrent kind of tools to do it easier, for example diarily observation, anecdotal records, checklists, rating scales, rubrics and portfolios.

THE POINT IN THESE TWO SITUATIONS IS THE WAY YOU APPLAY THE EVALUATION IN MY CLASE SINCE UPO TODAY I CAN REALIZE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ONE AND THE OTHER SO THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS HOW YOU CAN EVALUATE YOUR SS BEFORE PLANNING OR ORGANIZE YOUR LESSONS. WHEN YOU ALRLEADY HAVE THE CHECKLIST OF WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO EVALUATE OR INTERPRETATE YOUR SS NECESITIES, THEN YOU CAN MAKE YOUR ASSESSMENT OR GATHER THE INFORMATION YOU ARE GOING TO WORK WITH.

SELF EVALUATION

I HAVE LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE TO BE A GOOD TEACHER , WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE UP TO DATE SHARING INFORMATION AND PRACTICING TECHNIQUES THAT SUPPOSE YOU KNEW IT BUT MAYBE YOU DIDN'T PRACTICE.
I HAVE PRACTICED AND LEARNED A LOT. ACTUALLY I KNOW WHAT THINGS OR ACTIVITIES ARE FOR MORE CLEARLY AND HOW I CAN TAKE ADVANTEGE OF THEM WITH MY SS.

TEACHERS ARE VERY IMPORTANT IN SS LIFE AND MY WILLING IS TO IMPROVE MYSELF EVERY DAY AS A TEACHER WORKING SHOULDER OR ELBOW WITH ELBOW AND IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITH MY COLLEGUES.

I would evaluate three things.
KNOWLEDGE ---- WHAT THEY JNOW
ATTITUDE---- WHAT TO DO
SKILLS --- TO BE
I will start by doing a self evaluation as teacher in:
A) methodology b) material c) discipline d) abilities.
I will evaluate observing day by day, through quizzes, check, rubrics, portfolios,giving these reports to the principal, to parents, and find out strenghts and weaknesses, their areas of improvement, and of course how to motivate them in order to increase their learning.
